When we arrive to the 82 km and start the Inca Trail, in this long journey we will see the Patallaqta ruins. We will have a lunch stop at the appropriate time. In the afternoon light in Wayllabamba we will ascend to our camp, to have dinner and sleep.

2nd Day: Wayllabamba – Warmiwañusca – Pacaymayo:

After our breakfast, we will start our second day of trekking, through Tres Piedras, Llulluchapampa and reaching the peak of the Warmiwañusca (dead woman) Inca Trail at 4200 meters above the sea level. We will stop for lunch at the appropriate time. Continuing with the descending road we will reach our camp site in Pacaymayo (3500 mt), we will camp, have dinner and sleep.

3rd Day: Pacaymayo – Runkurakay – Sayacmarca – Wiñayhuayna:

Before the sunrise, at about 4:30am, we will have breakfast. After it, we will start a short stroll to reach Inti Inti Punku (Sun’s Door), which has a fantastic view of Machu Picchu. Guided visit for around two hours to the main temples of the Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu, then we will have free time to visit the Waynapicchu. In the afternoon we will go to the Aguas Calientes town to take the train to go back to Ollantaytambo and then take the bus to Cusco.

The availability of groups allowed to stay during the night in Wiñayhuayna is determined by the National Institute of Culture. In general, the groups allowed to stay in Wiñayhuayna are the ones that registered in advance for that date. Since the availability is very limited, the INC determines that the other groups must stay in Puyupatamarca during the night, which is two hours before reaching Wiñayhuayna. There is no way to choose to stay there. We recommend you to book it in advance.

Huayna Picchu is located behind the Machu Picchu Mountain so there you can take a top view of the Inca citadel. There is a control post in Machu Picchu. In order to ascend to Huayna Picchu you should sign in your name and you will receive a ticket to ascend to the Huayna Picchu. The guide will direct you on how to get the ticket, but you do not need to pay anything extra. Only 400 people per day, divided in two groups are able to visit it. Machu Picchu receives more than 1000 visitors a day and generally they do not get a quota to ascend to the Huayna Picchu. In general, the visitors that come from other roads get quotas because they arrive to Machu Picchu earlier. In order to get a better experience it is better to wake up early and see the sunrise.
